To explain Vergez Blanchard's method of measuring between teeth with the designation 'Point/spacing between teeth: 07,' it's important to understand how tools with teeth (such as pricking wheels or chisels) are generally measured, and how Vergez Blanchard specifically indicates their dimensions.

Here is an explanation:

  • General measurement of teeth/spacing:
    • When measuring tools with teeth, 'point' or 'spacing' refers to the distance between the tips of the teeth.
    • This distance determines how close or far apart the marks or holes will be when the tool is used on a material (e.g., leather).
  • Vergez Blanchard and '07':
    • Vergez Blanchard, as a recognized manufacturer of leather tools, has its own system for indicating this distance.
    • The designation '07' refers to the specific distance between the teeth.
    • It is not possible to give an exact millimeter measurement without having Vergez Blanchard data available.
    • Vergez Blanchard has a range of different point/spacing between their tools.
    • These numbers are part of Vergez Blanchards internal standard and give professionals a precise way to choose the right tool for their needs.
  • Practical application:
    • A smaller 'point' value means closer teeth and therefore closer marks/holes.
    • A larger 'point' value means wider spacing between the teeth and therefore wider marks/holes.
    • In leatherwork, different tooth spacings are used for different purposes, depending on the type of leather, stitching technique, and the desired aesthetic result.
